We're seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join our Trade Advisory team supporting U.S. importers affected by tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The role focuses on helping clients understand their tariff exposure, identifying potential refund opportunities, and guiding them through the duty recovery process. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of customs regulations with the ability to translate complex tariff rules into clear, practical guidance for clients. You will analyze import data, evaluate entry documentation, and work directly with importers to determine whether tariff refunds or corrections may be available. Where opportunities are identified, you will handle the administrative functions on behalf of clients including: filing corrections, submitting protests, and coordinating with CBP to actively pursue and recover duties owed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze shipment data, country-of-origin patterns, and tariff classifications to identify companies with significant duty exposure
  • Prepare and support corrective filings, including Post Summary Corrections (PSC) for unliquidated entries and protest submissions for liquidated entries through ACE
  • Retrieve and interpret reports from the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) to quantify tariff exposure and support case development
  • Support new importer clients through ACE portal setup and CBP account registration, ensuring proper trade entity configuration in the system
  • Use trade intelligence platforms and CBP data sources to uncover high-potential importer prospects
  • Explain IEEPA tariffs and potential recovery options to importers in clear, practical terms
  • Build structured case files and prioritize opportunities based on tariff exposure and claim viability
  • Collaborate with the advisory team, legal and accounting partners on more complex cases

Required Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License issued by CBP (required)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or trade advisory
  • Familiarity with IEEPA tariff actions and related CBP guidance
  • Familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and CBP entry documentation (CBP Forms 3461, 7501, etc.)
  • Experience analyzing import data and shipment records
  • Hands on experience setting up ACE Portal accounts and configuring importer/trade entity profiles on behalf of clients
  • Client facing communication skills; able to explain complex regulatory topics clearly
  • Ability to review and interpret entry documentation Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Section 301, Section 232, or other special tariff programs
  • Prior involvement in duty drawback, tariff refund claims, or protest filings
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
  • Background working with or alongside trade law attorneys
